Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival in Frankfurt

On arrival at Frankfurt, pick up and transfer your hotel. Check in. Afternoon at leisure. Evening at 2000 hrs, enjoy a half day city tour of Frankfurt. Old and modern Frankfurt: This City Tour shows you the most interesting sights of the former Coronation city of the German Emperors and the modern European Banking Center, including the historic heart with the Roemer, our famous old city hall, the Cathedral and St. Paul's Church. We will walk over the Roemer Square and in Old Sachsenhausen and see the Goethe House, birth place of our great poet and the international Fair Grounds, as well as the Old Opera and the banking quarter with its skyscrapers, the European Central Bank. See the old Hauptwache and our shopping center Zeili, the big towers of the former city wall, the museum banks and one of the largest European rail stations and much more. A city that offers much more than expected! Overnight in Frankfurt.

Day 2: Half day tour of Rhine

This tour starts with an afternoon drive to the Rhine Valley - an area UNESCO counts to the World Heritage of Mankind: vineyards, charming little villages and mighty medieval castles. We take a short boat trip on a Rhine steamer, passing the wonderful panorama of medieval castles, hills, picturesque villages and vineyards. You will be invited to a wine tasting and a dinner in a lovely restaurant is included before we return in the evening to Frankfurt. Overnight in Frankfurt.

Day 3: Frankfurt - Munich

Breakfast and check out of the hotel. Pick up and transfer to the station for your train to Munich. On arrival at Munich, pick up transfer to your hotel. Overnight at your hotel in Munich.

Day 4: Munich: The Royal Castles Neuschwanstein and Linderhof

Today we will visit two of Ludwig II's dream castles at Neuschwanstein and Linderhof, in the heart of the Bavarian Alps. Hidden in the seclusion of the mountains, Ludwig II built two of his dream castles: Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. This excursion shows you these two extraordinary castles, both testifying to the vision of Bavaria's fairytale King. There is also time for a short stop for souvenir shopping in Oberammergau. Pls note: The entrance fee for the castles (EUR 15.00 per person for both castles/subject to change) is not included and must be paid on the spot. Also note: Due to renovation works the facade of Neuschwanstein castle is currently partly obstructed. This is expected to last till summer 2010. Duration of tour: 10 hrs 30 mins. Overnight accommodation in Munich.

Day 5: Depart Paris

Breakfast. On arrival at Paris, pick up and transfer to your hotel. Check in. Overnight at your hotel in Paris. At Leisure to enjoy exploring Paris on your own.

Day 6: Paris half day city tour

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure. In the afternoon enjoy the city tour of Paris. Visit Place de la Concorde, the Avenue des Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe and a one hour cruise on the River Seine. Finally, enjoy a visit to the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower. Overnight in Paris.

Day 7: Paris: Louvre Musuem

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Louvre museum - the biggest museum in the world : discover the medieval fortress, the Egyptian department, and the most reputed works such as the Venus of Milo, the Winged Victory and the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Paris - Salzburg: Salzburg city tour

Breakfast and check out of the hotel. Pick up and transfer to the station for your train to Salzburg. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. Check in. Afternoon enjoy a city tour of Salzburg. Discover the architectural and historical highlights of the baroque city of Salzburg. The first part of the tour is operated by coach and during this you will see Mirabell Square, Schwarzstrasse, the Marionette Theatre, Landestheater, Makart Square, Mozart's House, Castle Neuhaus, Nonntal Bridge, Alpenstrasse, Hellbrunn Palace (where we will have a short stop,) and Neutor. The second part of the tour is on foot. You will discover the enchanting pedestrian area of the old town with its sights. We see the Neutor, the Horsepond, the Festival Houses, the Toscanini Courtyard, the Monastery of St. Peter, the Cemetery and Catacombs of St. Peter, Kapitel Square at the foot of the Hohensalzburg Fortress, the Cathedral, Residence Square, the Old Market, Getreidegasse and Mozart's Birthplace. Day 9: Salzburg Sound of Music Tour + Lakes & Mountains Tour

Relive the true story of the von Trapp family which was filmed as the "Sound of Music" in and around Salzburg. The tour which has been Salzburg's most popular tour for over 35 years, is a combination of both this historical city and the breathtakingSalzkammergut -Lakes and Mountains area - also a famous musical and cultural centre. : The MirabellGardens : Shown in many scenes where Maria and the children were seen dancing around the statue of Pegasus, the winged horse and throughout the gardens singing "Do-Re-Mi".
The Gazebo/Hellbrunn Palace: Where Rolf and Liesl sang "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" and Maria and the Baron sang "Something Good". It is now situated within the gardens of this hunting palace, built in the first half of the 17thcentury. Palace of Leopoldskron: This historical 18th Century palace and its grounds provided many locations for the movie including the lake where the boating scene took place, the terrace was also where the family drank 'Pink Lemonade' with the Baroness Schröder plus many other scenes.
Nonnberg Abbey: This historical abbey founded in the year 714 was used both in the movie and the true story. In the movie the Abbey was seen many times including when the children came to the gate to ask Maria to return to their home and from where the family tried to escape at the end of the movie. Maria and the Baron were married here in 1927.
St. Gilgen/Lake Wolfgang: This picturesque area was featured in the opening sequence of the movie. The village of St Gilgen (Mozart's mother was born here) on the northwest side of the Lake Wolfgang is situated directly across from the famous Schafberg mountain - also seen in the movie! Church of Mondsee: The Sound of Music Wedding Church. This historical church of Mondsee was the location of the movie wedding between Maria and the Baron. Inside this wonderful church Maria walked down the aisle to meet the Baron at the altar . Post Lunch if you still want to explore take off of the Lakes & Mountains Excursion A journey to the impressive Lakes and Mountains region of the 'Salzkammergut' with its stunning landscapes - incl. boat cruise (May to October only) over the beautiful Wolfgang Lake.Travelling via Hof and Fuschl, first stop in St Gilgen before travelling a little further on to St Wolfgang. There you will find many delights including the local church with its famous winged altar from the 15th century by Michael Pacher and the Hotel White Horse Inn- the setting for the famous operetta 'ImWeissenRössl'. On the return journey to Salzburg - you will pass the picturesque Krottensee and the Castle of Hüttenstein then via the Scharfling pass along the shores of the Mondsee (Moon Lake), passing the town of the same name once famous for its Monastery. .

Day 10: Salzburg to Interlaken

Early breakfast and check out of the hotel. Pick up from hotel and transfer to the station to board your train to Interlaken. On arrival, check you're your hotel in Interlaken. Overnight in Interlaken.

Day 11: Interlaken: Excursion to Jungfraujoch

This morning depart on an excursion from Interlaken up to Jungfraujoch- Top of Europe. This memorable trip takes you via Lauterbrunnen and Wengen to the KleineScheidegg, at the foot of the famous Eiger North Wall. Then ascent by the Jungfrau Railway to the magnificent mountain world of eternal ice and snow, Jungfraujoch-at 3454m, the highest railway station in Europe. Attractions include the beautiful Ice Palace, the Sphinx, Observation building overlooking the Aletsch Glacier, husky - drawn sledge rides and the Snow Disk Run. Also adventure activities such as Flying Fox, Glacier Trek and Kiss the Glacier are extremely popular. Overnight at your hotel in Interlaken.

Day 12: Interlaken: Excursion to Mt. Titlis: Evening Lake Lucerne cruise

World's First Revolving Cable car: World's First Revolving Cable car: Travel from Engelberg, an hour away from Lucerne, to Mount Titlis- a unique snow and glacier paradise and the highest mountain excursion in central Switzerland. Breakfast and check out of the hotel. Transfer to the airport for departure flight.
